Amateur-Championship of Bavaria

 

16.09. – 18.09.2005 at Golf- & Country-Club Regensburg e.V.

 

1. Eligibility:

Amateurs (male/female) as members of an acknowledged member of the German Golf

Association or members of foreign Golf Associations.

 

2. Format:

Day 1: Stroke Play – Qualifier over 18 holes

Foursome Stroke Play (rule 29) over 18 holes

Day 2: Match Play of the best 16 pairings after the Stroke Play Qualifier

Morning: Foursome Match Play (rule 29) of the last 16 pairings

Afternoon: Foursome Match Play (rule 29) of the last 8 pairings

Day 3: Match Play of the last 4 and Championship Match

Morning: Foursome Match Play (rule 29) of the last 4 pairings

Afternoon: Foursome Match Play (rule 29) – Championship Match

 

3. Handicap Limitation:

Cumulative handicap: -18,0 or better per pair.

 

4. Handicap Application:

No handicap alteration.

 

5. Limitation of Entrants:

60 pairs

In the event of entries exceeding this number, the pairings with the highest handicap will be

eliminated. Players of the same handicap will be eliminated by lot.

Entree fees are not payable by unsuccessful entrants who do not compete.

 

6. Modus of Play:

Day 1: Foursome Stroke Play Qualification over 18 holes.

Decision of Ties:

In the case of ties, the better total score for the last played 9 holes, with the degree of

difficulty according to the handicap distribution (1, 18, 3, 16, 5, 14, 7, 12, 9) will be taken into

account. If still tied, the better total score for the last played 6 holes, with the degree of

difficulty according to the handicap distribution (1, 18, 3, 16, 5, 14), if still tied the last 3 (1,

18, 3) and finally the most difficult hole will be taken into account, thereafter by lot.

Day 2: Foursome Match Play

Morning: 1:16 9:8 5:12 13:4 3:14 11:6 7:10 15:2

Afternoon: winner of 1:16 vs. 9:8 winner of 5:12 vs. 13:4

winner of 3:14 vs. 11:6 winner of 7:10 vs. 15:2

Day 3: Foursome Match Play

Morning: Semi-Finals

Afternoon: Championship Match

The winner of the Championship Match will receive the title “International Mixed Foursome

Amateur-Champion of Bavaria”

The losers of the semi-finals share 3rd place.

 

7. Tee Markers:

The tees to be played will be announced by the Committee before the practice round by a

posting on the info board.

 

8. Prizes:

The winner will receive a Gold Medal, the runner-up a Silver Medal and each loser in the

semi-finals a Bronze Medal.

The winner will also receive a separate trophy.

 

9. Committee:

The Committee will be announced by the Bavarian Golf Association.

 

10. Entry:

Entry form: Players of foreign Golf Associations may use the entry form and the form must

be sent/faxed to the Bavarian Golf Association.

Amateur status and exact handicap have to be certified by the golf club or

National Association/Federation/Union.

All entries will be subject to the approval of the Championship Committee

which reserves the right to accept or refuse, or having accepted, subsequently

reject any entry without giving reason for its decision.

The Championship Committee reserves the right to disqualify any competitor

making a false statement on his entry form.

Entry fee: The entry fee of ˆ100 per pair must be payed at the same time with

registration in the secretary of the Golf & Country Club Regensburg

Closing date: Tuesday, September 6th, 2005, 12:00 a.m.

 

11. Conditions of Play:

The Conditions of Play 2005 of the Bavarian Association.

 

12. Practice Round/Tee Times

A green-fee free practice round can only be played on Thursday, September 15th, 2005.

Please make tee time reservations at the secretary of the Golf-&Country-Club Regensburg.

Tee times can be requested the day before the first day of the championship.

 

13. Registration

All players must register at the secretary of the Golf-&Country-Club Regensburg on

Thursday, September 15th 2005 until 04:00 p.m.

A competitor, who does not register by 04:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15th, will be

withdrawn from the championship. If a player is unable to register in person, please phone,

fax or e-mail. 

 

14. Nations Cup

Within the Stroke Play Qualification over 18 holes on day 1 there will be a Nations Cup.

Eligible for play of the "Nations Cup" are teams of two or three pairs, entered by their

National Association/Federation/Union. Each country may enter up to two teams.

The overall result of the two best pairs of a nation will be taken into account.

Decision of Ties:

In the case of ties, the best of the two results of a nation will be taken into account, if still tied

the total score for the last played 9 holes, with the degree of difficulty according to the

handicap distribution (1, 18, 3, 16, 5, 14, 7, 12, 9) will be taken into account. If still tied, the

better total score for the last played 6 holes, with the degree of difficulty according to the

handicap distribution (1, 18, 3, 16, 5, 14), if still tied the last 3 (1, 18, 3) and finally the most

difficult hole will be taken into account, thereafter by lot.

The winner will receive the Nations Trophy.

 

15. Consolations Cup

All entrants who have not qualified for the match play can enter into the Consolations Cup

which will be played after the match play pairs on day 2.

Format: Four-Ball Stroke Play (rule 31) over 18 holes

Decision of Ties:

In the case of ties, the better total score for the last played 9 holes, with the degree of

difficulty according to the handicap distribution (1, 18, 3, 16, 5, 14, 7, 12, 9) will be taken into

account. If still tied, the better total score for the last played 6 holes, with the degree of

difficulty according to the handicap distribution (1, 18, 3, 16, 5, 14), if still tied the last 3 (1,

18, 3) and finally the most difficult hole will be taken into account, thereafter by lot.

The winner will receive the Consolations Cup.

 

Conditions of Competition:

1. The tournament is played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the

R & A and the Local Rules for the competition.

2. The “DGV-Vorgabensystem” (Handicap-System) and the general BGV - conditions of

competition 2004 apply for the tournament.

The German version of all conditions of competition is obligatory.

Part of these conditions are:

- A ball must be played which is on the current list of conforming golf balls issued by

the R & A and the USGA. Failure to comply leads to disqualification.

- Practise on or near the putting green of the hole last played and rolling a ball on the

putting green of the hole last played is prohibited.

- Riding in motorised golf carts is not allowed. Failure to comply leads to

disqualification.

- A player shall not knowingly make use of any drug to enhance his performance.

- The Committee reserves the right to fix or alter starting times and publish additional

conditions.
