Parādījuši respektējamu spēli "Hansabanka Latvian Open", Lietuvas golferi aicina uz savu amatieru čempionātu. Lai arī ielūgums ienācies ar aizkavēšanos, līdz pieteikumu iesniegšanas noslēgumam vēl ir dažas dienas laika. Atklātais Lietuvas amatieru čempionāts notiks sestdien un svētdien "Capitals Golf Club" laukumā.
Startam var pieteikties visi spēlētāji, kuru handikaps ir izkustināts no 36. Turnīra ietvaros atsevišķa ieskaite paredzēta arī senioriem un U-23 vecuma spēlētājiem, ja vien attiecīgajā grupā būs vismaz četri dalībnieki.

PARTICIPANTS
The participants of the championship:
1) amateur golf players from Lithuania and other countries who have handicap card;
2) handicap must be 35,9 and lower.
The number of competitors on the firts round is 120 players. If the number of entries exceeds 120, the criterions for selection will be: 1) lower handicap; 2) registration time.
Categories:
1. Men;
2. Ladies;
3. Senior Men (age limit on 01.01.2008 – 55 years old and more);
4. Senior Ladies (age limit on 01.01.2008 – 50 years old and more);
5. Men U23 (on 15.08.2008 – 22 years old and younger);
6. Ladies U23 (on 15.08.2008 – 22 years old and younger).
The competition in appropriate category will not be hold if the number of competitors in appropriate category will be less than four.

RULES
The competition will be played in conformity with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited and The United States Golf Association (31st edition), the local rules of the Capitals Golf Club course.
Any competitor who arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, shall incur a penalty of two strokes. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification.
Format
The format of the championship is individual stroke play (gross score).
For the participants of the 1 and 2 categories (men and ladies) – 36 holes (18 holes played over 2 consecutive days).
For the participants of the 3–6 categories (senior men, senior ladies, men U23, ladies U23) – 18 holes (on the first day of championship).
Men play from the yellow tees, ladies – from red.
CUT
The cut for the participants of the 1 and 2 categories (men and ladies) is after the firts round. Best 50% men and best 50% ladies are qualified for the second round. The Committee is authorised to alter the cut.
HANDICAP CARDS
Handicap cards for participants are mandatory.
GROUPS AND TIME OF STARTING
First round (16 August, Saturday)
*The participants of all categories will compete.
*The groups of 3-4 players will start according to the time of starting established by the Commitee.
*The tee time for the first group is 8.00 a.m. from the hole 1.
*The time of starting will be announced at 2 p.m. of 15 August (Friday) on the website of Capitals Golf Club (www.capitals.lt) or will be possible to query by calling the reception of Capitals Golf Club (+370-619-99999).
Second round (17 August, Sunday)
* The participants of the 1 and 2 categories (men and ladies) who qualified to the second round will compete.
* The groups of 3-4 players will be arranged by Commitee according to the gross score of the first round and will be divided in two sections: „A“ and „B“.
* The tee time for the first groups of the both section is 9.00 a.m. Groups of „A“ section will start from hole 1, groups of „B“ section – from hole 10.
* The time of starting will be announced at the evening of 16 August (Saturday) on the website of Capitals Golf Club (www.capitals.lt) or will be possible to query by calling the reception of Capitals Golf Club (+370-619-99999).
AWARDING
The winners of 1, 2 and 3 places in each category will be award with cups and diplomas of Lithuanian Golf Federation.
Additional events (both competition days):
* Closest to the Pin (men and ladies together) – hole 12;
* Longest Drive (men and ladies separate) – hole 18.
Decision of Ties
In case of tie for the 1st place shall be „sudden death” play-off on hole 18.
In case of tie for the 2nd and 3rd places shall be decided based on a count back system as follows:
1. Last 18 holes of the last round, if a tie still persists, then
2. Last 9 holes of the last round, if a tie still persists, then
3. Last 6 holes of the last round, if a tie still persists, then
4. Last 3 holes of the last round, if a tie still persists, then
5. Hole 18.
CHAMPIONSHIP FEE
150 LTL. Includes: green fee for both days and lunch for second day.
OTHER CONDITIONS
A player may provide his own caddie (only one person).
A player may use the simple or electric golf trolleys.
Participants should not use golf carts for transportation.
Desisions on unexpected cases in competition will be solved by the Commitee.
